Summary: Quickly preview your Microsoft Word 2003 documents with fonts other than Courier New.
Microsoft Word 2003 lets you display your documents using a draft font; this can speed up the rendering of complex documents on a slower machine. However, the draft font defaults to Courier New. Instead, you may rather want the entire document rendered with Arial or Verdana. To make this change:
1. Select “Tools” – “Options”.
2. When the “Options” multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the “View” tab.
3. Underneath “Outline and Normal options”, make sure “Draft font” is checked. Now, click the pull-down next to “Name” to change the font used to render your documents, and “Size” to change the font size used.
4. When done, click “OK” to save your settings.
