SUMMARY: In Excel 2010, alter the standard gridlines so they appear in blue, green, or yellow.
In an attempt to make spreadsheets appear less dull, Microsoft Excel 2010 lets you change the color of gridlines. Tired of the traditional black? Perhaps gridlines in aqua, gold, or violet will cheer you up. You can even change colors on a worksheet by-worksheet basis, so your gridline colors can match your tab colors.
1. Select the “File” tab in the Ribbon.
2. The Microsoft Office Backstage View appears. Click the “Options” button.
(Or instead of steps 1 and 2, press Alt + T, then the letter O.)
3. The “Excel Options” dialog box appears. Click “Advanced” in the left pane.
4. In the right pane, scroll down to “Display options for this worksheet”. Click the pull-down next to it to choose the worksheet to modify from the currently-open workbooks.
5. Next to “Gridline color”, click the pull-down to choose your desired color or select “Automatic” for the default.

6. Click “OK” on the bottom-right of the dialog box to close it.
