Microsoft Word 2003 Spelling and Grammar – Uppercase Words and Spell Check

Depending on how Microsoft Word 2003 is configured, the spellchecker may ignore uppercase words. This is because Microsoft Word 2003 thinks uppercase words mean proper names, acronyms, etc., and thus will not be found in normal dictionaries.

Depending on the type of documents you write in Microsoft Word 2003, however, you may wish to force it to check uppercase words for proper spelling. Or, you may wish to turn on the spellchecker for uppercase words because you may commonly mistype acronyms or names; by adding acronyms or names into the user dictionary, whenever (or if) they are later misspelled, Microsoft Word 2003 can notify you.
