Hide the Ruler

Summary: Turn off the ruler shown next to Microsoft Word 2003 documents for more screen real-estate.

When writing documents with Microsoft Word 2003, the ruler above and to the left of your document provides helpful features including the ability to view and set tabs, plus the ability to instantly see how much you can type on each line/page before text scrolls to the next line/page.

There are instances, however, where you may not need the ruler present, and disabling it can provide more screen real-estate for your documents. To toggle displaying the ruler, select “View” – “Ruler”.
