Summary: Hide Word 2003’s scroll bars to increase document-editing space.
To gain more screen real estate for editing your Word 2003 document, you can hide the vertical scroll bar, the horizontal scroll bar, or both. Hiding the horizontal scroll bar is especially useful if you have enough horizontal resolution to display most documents onscreen without scrolling to the left or right.
1. Click “Tools”, choosing “Options”.
2. When the “Options” multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the “View” tab.
3. Under “Show”, uncheck “Horizontal scroll bar” and/or “Vertical scroll bar” as desired.
4. Press “OK” to close the dialog box.
