Microsoft Word 2003 Toolbar Customization - Split the Standard and Formatting Toolbars into Two Rows

Depending on your settings, Microsoft Word 2003 may combine all of its standard and formatting toolbar buttons on one toolbar row. While this increases the amount of room where you can edit documents, many toolbar buttons may not be displayed, especially if you have a small monitor. This can make document editing less convenient if you need to add complex formatting and don't want to navigate through menus. If desired, you can split the toolbar so it takes up two rows, showing more (if not all) of the available standard and formatting functionality.

1. Click "Tools", selecting "Customize".

2. When the "Customize" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Options" tab.

3. Check "Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Word 2003 Toolbar Customization - Split the Standard and Formatting Toolbars into Two Rows.
