Microsoft Word 2003 Fonts - Change the Draft Font

Microsoft Word 2003 lets you display your documents using a draft font; this can speed up the rendering of complex documents on a slower machine. However, the draft font defaults to Courier New. Instead, you may rather want the entire document rendered with Arial or Verdana. To make this change:

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "View" tab.

3. Underneath "Outline and Normal options", make sure "Draft font" is checked. Now, click the pull-down next to "Name" to change the font used to render your documents, and "Size" to change the font size used.

4. When done, click "OK" to save your settings.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Word 2003 Fonts - Change the Draft Font.
