Summary: Get rid of the red and green squiggly lines in your Microsoft Word 2000 technical documents.
Especially with technical documents or documents containing plenty of acronyms, there may be huge sections of your text that don’t follow Microsoft Word 2000’s default spelling and grammar rules. Underneath these sections of text, Word normally will put red squiggly lines for spelling errors and green squiggly lines for grammar errors. If you’re tired of seeing these lines, there is a way to stop their display.
Select the area of text that you don’t want Microsoft Word 2000 to grammar or spell check. Select the “Tools” menu, then “Language”, then “Select Language”. On the “Language” dialog box that appears, uncheck “Do not check spelling or grammar”, and then press “OK” to close the dialog box.
Voila! No more squiggly lines!
