Microsoft Word 2000 - View your Headings in Another Window

Working on a large document in Microsoft Word 2000? If so, it is likely that you will have tons of headings, table of content entries, page titles, etc. If you need to frequently jump around the document to make changes or proofread text, you may find navigating through dozens, hundreds, or thousands (!) of pages quite cumbersome. With a couple of mouse clicks, you can have Microsoft Word 2000 create a document map to the left of your current document that can show TOC entries, major headings, and more.

Click on the "View" menu and choose "Document Map". That's it. Now, when you click on a TOC entry or a heading in the map, Word will automatically navigate to that section of the document. You can also increase or decrease the size taken up by the Document Map by positioning your mouse on the border of the map frame and resizing the window using the mouse.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Word 2000 - View your Headings in Another Window.
