Microsoft Word 97 - Remove the Status Bar

Although Word's status bar displays seemingly important information, you may be low on screen real estate. If so, you can turn off the status bar display and get more room on your screen for editing your document. To do so, click on the "Tools" menu, selecting "Options." On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, select the "View" tab. Under "Window", uncheck "Status bar". Press the "OK" button to close the dialog box.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Word 97 - Remove the Status Bar.
