Inserting Common Text

Summary: Stop retyping text you frequently add to Word 97 documents.

Tired of typing in common lines of text such as your name, "Sincerely", and "Attention"? Word offers an "AutoText" feature that lets you click and insert common text into your documents. To enter in common lines of text, select the "Insert" menu, choose "AutoText", and navigate the text menus to find the information that you wish to paste into your document.

If you want to add your own AutoText entries, just do the above, but instead of selecting on a particular AutoText line, select "AutoText€" from the menu that appears. A multi-tabbed dialog box will appear pointed at the "AutoText" tab. From this dialog box, you can enter in common lines of text that you use every day. When you are finished adding text, press "OK" to close the dialog box.
