For historical or archival purposes, you may wish to insert somewhere into your Microsoft Word 2003 document the date the file was first created. To do so:
1. Click "Insert", selecting "Field".
2. When the "Field" dialog box appears, underneath "Field Names", scroll down and click on "CreateDate".
Adding the "CreateDate" field to a Microsoft Word 2003 document.
3. Underneath "Date formats", choose how you wish the time and/or date to be displayed.
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
Note that if the document's creation date is somehow modified, as can be done with some tweaking tools, this value should update.
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then,
return to Microsoft Word 2003 Date and Time - Insert Document Creation Date.
