Colored Worksheet Tabs

Summary: Customize your Excel 2007 spreadsheet’s worksheet tabs with colors.

If you are designing a large Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet with multiple worksheets, it may prove useful to customize the tab bar by giving each worksheet a different color.

For example, in a large spreadsheet containing multiple years’ worth of financial information, you could highlight each year’s Accounts Payable in red and Accounts Receivable in green, making them easier to find.

Two notes:

* When coloring and selecting sheet tabs, the selected tab will appear in white (default color scheme), underlined with the tab’s current color.

* With the default color scheme, you may find that lighter-colored sheet tabs prove to be more readable.
